Glimpses of agency in Arundhati Roy’s The god of small things

‘Agency in The God of Small Things?’ Surprise may well be readers’ first reaction to this thought as they recall the series of relentless tragic events that befall the chief characters of this novel. To commence this seemingly unjustified mission, I shall consider the kind and scale of agency one finds in Roy’s political writings.
